Dana Shai, Ph.D., is a Fellow researcher at the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzelia, Israel. Her Ph.D. research, completed at Birkbeck University of London and supervised by Prof. Jay Belsky and Prof. Peter Fonagy, focused on Parental Embodied Mentalising in parent-infant interactions and its prediction of attachment security. Dana has received a BA summa cum laude in Psychology from Tel-Aviv University, Israel and a MSc. with high distinction in Psychoanalytic Developmental Psychology, UCL/Anna Freud Centre. She also studied Dance Movement Therapy and trained in Movement Analysis paradigms. Dana’s teaching and research focuses on parental mentalising, embodiment, parent-infant relations, and early interventions.
