Beatrice de Gelder holds degrees in experimental psychology and philosophy of science and a Phd in philosophy. She is professor of cognitive neuroscience and director of the Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience Laboratory at Tilburg University, The Netherlands and at the department of neuroscience, Louvain University. She is also senior scientist at the Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging, at Charlestown, Massachusetts. Her research focuses on face and body perception, emotion processing in the face, voice and whole body, multisensory integration and consciousness. Her work combines behavioral and neuroimaging methodologies in healthy subjects and brain damaged patients. She has published over 150 papers and edited three books.
